Reminders for May 11 - 15

Good morning,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.

There are a number of permission forms which require attention quickly, some have fees attached, and some do not.  If you would please look at your powerschool account to check if you have completed these forms it would be very appreciated.

The forms that I am most concerned about are: tomorrow's Riverview transition activity - we walk to RMS and have a barbecue with them and then participate in some activities they have planned.  Thursday's Clay Guy  - there is a fee for this activity.

If you have already completed these forms, thank-you.

Wednesday afternoon we have an in-school fieldtrip which does not have a permission form or a fee.  It is the Classroom Agriculture Program, and the lady who is presenting to us this year will be focusing on the dairy aspect of agriculture.

May 25 - 29 are bike safety days.  We will require adults to ride with the students during our time slots.  If you are interested, please email me, and I will tell you the specific times that we will be riding.  If we do not have enough adults, on Thursday and Friday, we will not be leaving the school grounds.

We had an awesome presentation from the Lord Strathcona's Mounted Regiment.  I actually took a few pictures, and will be sharing them with you (In random order -ask your student to order them).  The first part of the presentation was a classroom section where a member of the Regiment came into our classroom and spoke to the students.  He then answered questions the students asked.  After that, we went outside to see the trailer the horses travel in while on the road as well as ask a few more questions of the Members at that location.  We ended by watching the Musical Ride.  What an experience!  Please ask your child about his or her thoughts as you are winding down tonight.

Welcome to October! This is a busy month for grade four.  We begin with a parent meeting Tuesday, October 7, 2014 to discuss the upcoming trip to DRUMHELLER.  Your voice is important, so please be sure to come and have input as to how this trip will happen.  Discussion topics will include: chaperones, financing, curricular ties, dates and more. School photos are being taken on October 7, as well.  I f your child is wearing 'fancy' clothes for photos, please send along a set of regular clothes to be worn after photos are taken. Hot lunch and milk programs begin this month - if you did not purchase either yet, you will have to wait until November to begin. Deadline for November orders is October 24. We will soon have our set timetable for the year - I will be sending home a copy of this as well as placing one inside of the agenda - glued inside.
