Madison and Jada's Reports December 7 - 18
Madison's News:
Hello,
This will be a short post because we have been busy with all kinds of extra events due to the season. We have a short curricular post for you:
Science - We are wrapping up our Light and Shadows Unit. Make sure you study for the test on Thursday. Please remember the marking scheme will be: I - independent, N - needs a little support and B - beginning to demonstrate knowledge of the concepts.
Social - There is no more Current Events until after Christmas
Math - We are continuing to work on Multiplication using arrays and mental math.
LA - We are still working with Mrs. Fleming on writing. When you are writing a story, "show it don't tell what it is" is what we are learning.
Extra news:
We enjoyed the play ANNIE. The performers were excellent!
Our Christmas Concert went off without a hitch - nice job by all involved.
Have a happy holiday! Hopefully you get a new book over the break that you can use for our challenge!
Jada's News:
Math - We tried to make it to the end of the multiplication unit, but we did not quite make it...we will have to remember so much over the break!
Social - We will start a new unit in social after the break. We have discussed the importance of alternate fuel sources, fossil fuels and our 3 main industries in Alberta.
Science - We completed our Light and Shadows unit with a test on Thursday! We will be starting our Wheels and Levers unit in January.
LA - We finished working with Mrs. Fleming on our writing. We will be focussing on reading strategies in January and February.
Extra news:
SKATING: We will be skating on January 11 at 1:00 - 1:45; Tuesday and Wednesday 11:10 - 11:50; and on Thursday at 8:35 - 9:25. There is no skating on Friday. WE NEED 2 SKATING ADULTS TO JOIN US as well as skate tiers and general help. If we do not have 3 skating adults (I plan to skate also), we are not allowed on the ice.
SKIING - Grade 4s are going skiing on February 22 and March 7. This is just a heads up as more details will be forthcoming closer to the dates.
Have a great holiday! See you on the 4th of January!
