Hello! This is the week's brainstorming for our KidBlog posts.  Please remember to ask your student for the details of what we learned this week.  Be sure to ask for details, as the students are reluctant to talk a lot about most core topics.  
At the bottom of the post, there are some important bits of information for you.  Please be sure to read through them.  Happy Thursday!

Important information:

1. There is no school on March 22 for a PD day.  Spring Break is the following week, so technically, students have from the evening of the 21 through to the morning of April first off.

2. We ski on April 1.  If there is not enough snow, we may have to cancel this trip, again.  Any money that was paid may be rolled over to cover costs for Camp Warwa.  Any left over money (beyond this rollover)  will be either rolled over to cover any other costs or will be refunded depending on individual situations.

3. April 3 is early dismissal already. Please don't forget to make any necessary arrangements for your child's early after-school care.

4.  There will be an email coming out about Camp Warwa soon.  Please watch your inbox for it.

5.  April 18 is the Family Dance and Cake Walk.  Grade 4 families are asked to donate one cake per family to make the cake walk happen.  All proceeds go towards our Camp Warwa trip.

Musical Ride

We had an awesome presentation from the Lord Strathcona's Mounted Regiment.  I actually took a few pictures, and will be sharing them with you (In random order -ask your student to order them).  The first part of the presentation was a classroom section where a member of the Regiment came into our classroom and spoke to the students.  He then answered questions the students asked.  After that, we went outside to see the trailer the horses travel in while on the road as well as ask a few more questions of the Members at that location.  We ended by watching the Musical Ride.  What an experience!  Please ask your child about his or her thoughts as you are winding down tonight.

Welcome to October! This is a busy month for grade four.  We begin with a parent meeting Tuesday, October 7, 2014 to discuss the upcoming trip to DRUMHELLER.  Your voice is important, so please be sure to come and have input as to how this trip will happen.  Discussion topics will include: chaperones, financing, curricular ties, dates and more. School photos are being taken on October 7, as well.  I f your child is wearing 'fancy' clothes for photos, please send along a set of regular clothes to be worn after photos are taken. Hot lunch and milk programs begin this month - if you did not purchase either yet, you will have to wait until November to begin. Deadline for November orders is October 24. We will soon have our set timetable for the year - I will be sending home a copy of this as well as placing one inside of the agenda - glued inside. For math this week, we are trying to wrap up the patterns unit with a unit exam on Friday.  Your child will be bringing home a

January 20, 2015 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 1.) Skiing February 2, 2015   The grade 4 classes will be skiing at Rabbit Hill on February 2, 2015.  Below are the details as provided by Mr. Henderson. Departure time:  8:30  - Return to school  4:00  - need to arrange for pick up as buses will not be available Pricing options: a) Full package - rental equipment (skis or snowboard); lift pass, lesson, and transportation - $43.00                                b) Lift, lesson, and Transportation (have own equipment) - $26.00                                c) Rentals, lesson, and transportation (have own hill pass) - $22.00                                d) Lesson and transportation (have own equipment and lift pass) - $5.00 Students will need to bring a lunch.  There is a concession available should students wish to bring money to buy lunch or snacks. Deadline for permission forms and payment is  January 30 , 3:30 - NO late payments or payments on the day of the trip
